International Visitors

Last Updated: Friday, 21 July 2017

Welcome to Exeter!

Whether you are here to work or to study for an undergraduate or postgraduate course, we hope that you really enjoy your time here.

At St Leonard’s Church there are many people who would look forward to meeting you and are keen to offer friendship and maybe even a warm meal! We would love you to make this your home church during your stay in Exeter.

Services

All international visitors, whether Christian or just interested in finding out more about what Christians believe, are welcome to our services. The details of these can be found here.

Student Focus

International students are very welcome at Student Focus, where we share a meal together before reading from the Bible in small groups. You can find out more here.

Friends International and Globe Café

We also support the work of Friends International, who organise many events (including Globe Café), Bible discussions and day trips for international students. They have a hospitality scheme, through which you can be invited to a local home for a meal. More details can be found here.

SUMMER 2017  -  Can you help?

Many international students are arriving in Exeter, to do English language courses. Many will be lonely and homesick; many come from countries where there’s no chance to hear the Gospel and they are curious about Christianity. It's a great  opportunity to welcome them and make friendships sensitively and prayerfully. We will be having a Welcome Party on Monday 3rd July. We’d love cakes to share & people to come and befriend our guests. Can you help? After that we’ll meet Monday evenings at a local pub/cafe in July & August & would welcome people who can help regularly or on a one-off basis. For more info contact Jenny Hudson, Friends International, jenny.hudson@friendsinternational.org.uk or 0775 256 0698. Whether or not you can join us, we'd value your prayers for our guests!
