Home Home About us
Aims

Our activities as a church are not just for our own benefit. Jesus told his disciples: "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations".

Our goal is to do all we can to make his good news known in our locality, our country and our world. Each of us has some role to play in this. Our various groups exist to train and support us to do so.

As a church we have links with our fellow Christians in Exeter through projects like the Exeter ICE Charitable Trust working in local schools; the Exeter Evangelical Partnership; the St Petrock's Centre for the homeless; the Gideons; Crusaders, the Christian Unions in schools and local universities and others. Nationally, we are connected to CPAS and have close links with the UCCF and other evangelical bodies. We support overseas mission agencies such as CMS, OMF and SAMS.

As part of the worldwide church, some of our members are working as mission partners, and others have spent time abroad helping the church to grow in other parts of the world.

FAQs

What do we believe?

We believe that Jesus, now risen and ascended, is in charge of the whole world and everyone in it. We can only find real life, the life God wants for us, when we live in relationship with him. The four gospels in the New Testament of the Bible tell us that Jesus came to do all that was necessary for any of us to enjoy the real, eternal life he offers.

At St Leonard's we are a community of people, of all ages and backgrounds, who have found this to be true in our own experience. Our aim (though we are far from perfect!) is to help one another live effectively in the way Christ wants us to. It is also our aim to pass the message about Christ to others, as best we can.

Church can be fun!

Many of us might have been put off church by getting thoroughly bored either as children or adults.
But it doesn't have to be like that all the time. Many Christians like quiet contemplative services but not all do. Just like any normal family we are all different and appreciate different styles of worship or just enjoy different ways of spending time together.
