Home Home About us Church can be fun!
Church can be fun!

Many of us might have been put off church by getting thoroughly bored either as children or adults.
But it doesn't have to be like that all the time. Many Christians like quiet contemplative services but not all do. Just like any normal family we are all different and appreciate different styles of worship or just enjoy different ways of spending time together.

Whilst St Leonard's is fairly conventional in its style, we also believe that as a family we must act out our faith in a way that suits all our ages and personalities. Its important that we all enjoy and look forward to meeting together both on Sundays and during the rest of the week.

On this page we plan to show you a selection of some of the things that church members have been involved in recently.

In January 2009 200 of us headed off for a weekend in Cornwall

Early in 2008 we ran a week of Events for the Hope '08 project.

This involved taking over a restaurant, a pub, turning the Church into a Jazz venue and organising a debate.
The events were fun but also gave us the opportunity to invite friends along to hear about our faith.

Barn Dance

In October we held a barn dance at the Church. Hosted by the Barnstormers an extremely good band there were so many people of all ages that, at times, dancing became quite dangerous! I think everyone had such a good time that no one thought to take any pictures.

Childrens' events

One of the great things about of St Leonard's is the number of families and children who come along. Its good to see so many having such a good time.
