Astra Edwards serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Sarasota, Florida

Astra has been working in YWAM Lausanne, Switzerland, for the past 7 years involved with the daily running of the logistics of base life for the missions training campus. Through gaining much experience and working with some fantastic leadership over the years she has now moved to help pioneer a location on the west coast of Florida with a long-term YWAM couple and a staff team of 22. Her main role is support to the leadership and stability for the staff team.
In addition to this, she also works with an international team for the development of the records of the University of the Nations (UofN). The University of the Nations is an international modular training institution for Associates, Bachelors and Masters programs in 650 locations, in more than 160 nations.
YWAM’s principle purpose is to know God and make Him known. This is through their 3 main purposes of Training, Evangelism and Mercy Ministry.
One of the most well known parts of this being the 20 week course called a Discipleship Training School which helps Christians take time away from every day life in their home nation and help them grow in their relationship with God and give them an introduction to outreach ministry throughout the world.
Latest prayer news:
* YWAM Sarasota Discpleship Training School runs from 22nd January until 8th July 2016 with 25 students who will go to Kenya, India & Nepal and Thailand & Cambodia for outreach at the end of April for 8 weeks.
* University of the Nations annual international meetings, Kona, Hawaii 5th - 19th March, 2016. For clarification of my role going forward and possible changes.
* U.S.A. visa will expire on 26th September 2016. That God would clearly lead these next weeks as I process and make decisions about this next season coming up and how to do the visa re-application process.
