Astra has been a part of the St Leonards family for the past 15 years, she served in two of the Children's groups over the years before moving abroad to serve with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in 2009.

Her current role is serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Sarasota, Florida & an International role with University of the Nations (UofN). Astra has been volunteering with YWAM for over 9 years where she has served long term with many training locations and been to over 30 countries on 5 continents throughout her time in missions.

She was based in Lausanne, Switzerland, for 7 years (2009-2015), and Sarasota, Florida, USA for almost 3 years (2015-present).

Through gaining much experience and working with some fantastic leadership over the years she currently focuses on her international role in the area of long term development of the University of the Nations records system and how through a modern records system we can serve everyone from students on the ground, missionaries out on the field and international college faculty providing the training. She is also a support to the leadership team in Sarasota Florida and stability for the young staff team there during a time of pioneering.

YWAM Sarasota is focused on missions in Nepal, Kenya and will join a bigger YWAM team (March 2018) to go and bring aid/help to the island of Puerto Rico which was hit by two big hurricanes last Autumn.

The University of the Nations is an international modular training institution for Associates, Bachelors and Masters programs in 650 locations, in more than 160 nations: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LVCUJkSa5s

YWAM’s principle purpose is to know God and make Him known. This is through their 3 main purposes of Training, Evangelism and Mercy Ministry. One of the most well known parts of this being the 20 week course called a Discipleship Training School which helps Christians take time away from every day life in their home nation and help them grow in their relationship with God and give them an introduction to outreach ministry throughout the world.
