Serving with OMF, preparing to begin a new ministry in Brazil, leaving UK at the end of February 2017.

 Family

Joshua completed three years of medical studies at St Andrew’s University and began clinical studies at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester in September 2015 .

Aimée left the Anglo-Chinese School in Singapore in 2014. She began to study medicine in St Andrew's  in the  autumn of 2015.

Ministry

Steve and Anna are on the move - from Singapore to Brazil to start a new work with OMF.  They will be working alongside Brazilian churches, Bible Colleges and Mission Agencies to mobilise Brazilian missionaries to reach East Asians for Jesus. They will be the only OMF representatives in Brazil and will be working to consolidate existing links that OMF has with evangelical Christians there as well as seeking to establish new ones.

Brazil is South America’s biggest and most influential country, covering more than  half of South America. The Holy Spirit has burned brightly in the Brazilian “cities of the dispossessed”. From just 2 million in 1960, there are now 40+ million evangelical Christians. Brazil is developing into a significant missionary sending nation although there is still much unrealized potential. Very few Brazilians end up in East Asia.

“The Axe and The Tree”

Steve’s book, published by Lion Hudson was released on 17th February 2017. It retells the story of the lives and deaths of a previous generation of cross-cultural workers in Zimbabwe.

Prayer points:

  • Pray for Josh studying  in Manchester and Aimée  at St Andrew’s, particulalry as they say goodbye & adjust to Steve & Anna being in a new continent.
  • Pray for Steve's Mother & Anna's parents as they also say goodbye!
  • Pray that Steve's book would bring glory to God.
  • That they will find suitable (and affordable) accommodation in São Paulo or its surrounds; that they will be able to negotiate long-term visas after they arrive; that they will have time to brush up their rusty Portuguese and that they will build good relationships with Brazilian Christians which will bear fruit for the extension of God’s Kingdom.
